The biggest lacquering line of wagons in the world was ceremoniously put into operation today in the presence of the Czech delegation at OAO NPK URALVAGONZAVOD, Nizhniy Tagil, Sverdlovsk area. It is a joint project of Czech (GALATEK, a.s.) and Finnish (BLASTMAN ROBOTICS, Ltd.) suppliers, realized by the company ALTA, a.s., within the frame of the project ‘Modernization of Uralvagonzavod’. The line, having the value of 44 million EUR, is planned to paint 16,000 wagons in two-way operation. Important persons from the political scene were present at the ceremonial opening, such as A. S. Misharin, the governor of the Sverdlovsk area, D. V. Manturov, the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Industry of the Russian Federation and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Uralvagonzavod at the same time, O. V. Sienko, the Director General of Uralvagonzavod, H. Pejcha, Chargé d’Affaires of the Czech Republic in the Russian Federation, and the managing agents of the projecting and supplying companies. The Czech delegation was led by prominent representatives of industry and financial institutions, T. Hüner and L. Vaněk, the Deputy Ministers of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, L. Pokorný, the Director General of ČEB, a. s., J. Poříz, the Director of the ČEB Representation in the Russian Federation, and EGAP, a.s. was represented by the Director General, J. Skuhra, and many others.
The project ‘Modernization of Uralvagonzavod’ successfully continues, despite the decline of the growth rate of the Russian economy, which considerably helps Czech companies to manage better the period of lowered volumes of orders. It is a complex project which includes not only the modernization of the metallurgical and foundry equipment but also the modernization of machining, forging and lacquering lines, which makes it one of the largest commissions of engineering companies for the Russian Federation. Until the end of the year 2009, contracts were signed in the total value of 219 million EUR. This year a contract for the supply of machining machines in the value of 19 million EUR was signed with the performance in the years 2011 and 2012.
